CORBEL jean-Pierre. né le 3 juin 1958 à Guingamp (Côtes d’Armor), XXe s. FRANCAIS.

Artiste multimédia, photographe. abstrait. Après des études à l’École de photo d’Ivry-sur Seine, entre 1977 et 1979, il fit une carrière de photographe dans le domaine du sport automobile. En dehors de ses expositions photographiques, il a participé, en tant qu’artiste multimédia, à l’exposition : L’art et son concept, au château de Beaumanoir en 1996.

Parallèlement à son activité purement photographique, il fait depuis 1984, des recherches artistiques, plastiques sur la lumière. Il utilise des films instantanés, sans toutefois prendre de photos avec un appareil, mais en les exposant sous différentes sources de lumière, à différentes températures, ce qui permet l’obtention de couleurs allant des bleus et violets jusqu’aux orangés et aux rouges. Il joue ensuite, au moment du développement de la pellicule, avec la répartition de la gelée chimique passée à l’aide de rouleaux, de la main ou d’une spatule. La répartition de cette gelée peut être combinée avec des expositions successives afin d’obtenir diverses couleurs souhaitées. Les titres de ses œuvres : 690 Nm – 600 Nm 1 – 450 Nm 1 – 405 – Nm 2 – 405 Nm 3, etc. font référence au spectre visible allant de 400 à 700 Nanomètre par rapport à la couleur dominante de l’image photographique. Jean – Pierre Corbel cherche toujours à garder la notion d’abstraction en relation avec la lumière.

Multimedia artist, photographer. Abstract. After studying at the School of Photography in Ivry-sur-Seine between 1977 and 1979, he pursued a career as a motor’sport photographer. In addition to his photographic exhibitions, he took part as a multimedia artist in the Art and its concept exhibition at the castle of Beaumanoir in 1996.

Alongside his purely photographic activities, he has been carrying out artistic research since 1984 using plastic on light. He uses instant films without actually tacking photographs using a camera but by exposing them using different light sources at different temperatures. The result is colours going from blue and violet to orange and red. He then experiments, at the moment that the film is developed, with the spreading of chemical jelly using rollers, the hand or a spatula.The spreading of this jelly can be combined with successive exposures in order to obtain the various colours desired. His works, entitled : 690 Nm – 600 Nm 1 – 405 Nm 1 – 405 Nm 2 – 405 Nm 3, etc. refer to the visible spectrum wich go from 400 to 700 Nanometre with reference reference is dominant colour of the photographic image. Jean Pierre Corbel always tries to keep the notion of abstraction in relation to light.
